[Sept.14] Just back from Photokina 2014 in Cologne, Germany. I have added 2 items to my x’mas wish list already – Fujifilm’s Fujinon XF50-140mm F2.8R LM OIS WR and the Zeiss’ ZM Distagon T* 1.4/35!!
Other intriguing announcements were from Leica and Sony. Leica launched their new additions to the M-series with the M Edition 60 and the M-A. 60 years after the M3 launch in 1954, Leica releases their M Edition 60, Audi designed with metallic elements including the matching Summilux-M 35 mm f/1.4 ASPH… but without a rearview LCD display!! Limited to 600 pieces worldwide. While the M Edition 60 is suppose to be returning to the essentials of photography, I preferred the M-A, which is essentially a new M3, with updated 6 frameline viewfinder.
Sony announced the Vario Tessa FE 16-35mm F4 ZA OSS, rounding off their F4 Trinity, together with the already available Vario Tessa FE 24-70mm F4 ZA OSS and the FE 70-200mm F4 G OSS. They also launched their Distagon T* FE 35mm F1.4.
I would like to thank Fujifilm Singapore for the opportunity to attend Photokina, and the Fujifilm media briefing. More on the Fujifilm launches can be found here – http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1448300
