Great news for Fujifilm X-T1 users from Fujifilm

[Photokina.2014] This may not be news to some, but sometimes it’s just good to be able to confirm a rumour… esp one this good!! Of course, there’s some amount of vested interest in wanting to confirm this, as I’m a X-T1 user myself.

Fujifilm X-T1

A little over 6-mths after the launch of the Fujifilm X-T1 with an RRP of S$1999, Fujifilm announced the X-T1 Graphite Silver Edition (http://www.fujifilm.com/news/n140910_02.html), with a RRP of S$2,199 (available in early Nov’14).

What do you get for the S$200 more?

The obvious is the solid the the graphic silver surface, which goes through a 6-step special finish. A nice smooth top coat finish… although, I prefer the black hammer tone finish. The other improvement to the exterior of the body is the much improved D-pad buttons, even when compared to the “upgraded” ones on the X-T1.

The other improvements are all internal. The 2 more significant additions are the electronic shutter, capable of quiet triggers up to 1/32000 sec, as well as addition of the “Classic Chrome” film simulation. There is much excitement over the this new film simulation, and I too am intrigued to want to use it as a default setting (https://myleicamp.wordpress.com/2014/08/28/fujifilm-x30-classic-chrome-samples/).

Well, the good news is that these and other improvements to the will be made available to both the X-T1 and the X-T1GS come Dec’14. Nice…
